A subtle material palette of dark brown granite coupled with stained wood veneers highlighted the contrast between the light, white interior walls while the translucent glass panels provide a neutral transition between these elements. Hand made glass tiles used throughout not only add surface texture but also act as a counterpoint to the sleek interior. The detailing of the interior glass walls, and steel stair with stainless steel cable guardrails, make reference to the nearby cruise ships and port area. The kitchen’s two floating islands, one for food preparation and the other for serving, contain large, double-sided storage drawers and display shelves. Cabinet depth appliances and wine coolers allow for a sleek integration of the built-in millwork within the kitchen and bars. The kitchen’s stainless steel components further enhanced the interplay of solids and voids with contrasts of light and dark tones. Custom-designed, free-standing furniture components including the dining room table, buffet console, cabinet, sofa table console, and the master bed assembly helped maintain the minimalist aesthetic throughout the project bridging architecture and interiors.
